Where I help
Most technology decisions turn on a few hard questions: is it real, is it different, how long will it take, and will it matter in the market. I help you answer them with confidence.
Technology and investment due diligence
An independent assessment of emerging technologies, product readiness, technical differentiation, development requirements and market potential, to inform investment, acquisition and partnership decisions.
AI and computational imaging
Strategy for AI and machine-learning products, edge and on-device computing, and imaging pipelines, with differentiation that spans algorithms, embedded software and silicon.
Semiconductor and SoC architecture
Chipset roadmaps, architecture trade-offs, power-efficient system design, development strategy, and make, buy or partner decisions.
R&D strategy and IP leadership
Advanced technology R&D, technology and product roadmaps, organizing for innovation, governance, technical talent, commercialization strategy and patent portfolios.
Who I work with
Engagements are tailored to the decision in front of you, whether that is a term sheet, a board vote or a product roadmap.
Venture and corporate investors
Technical due diligence on AI, imaging, semiconductor and consumer-technology companies, so you know what you are buying and what it will take to deliver.
Boards and executive teams
Independent technical counsel on strategy, timing and risk, including board and technical advisory board roles with small and mid-sized companies.
Technology companies
Hands-on guidance on roadmaps, architecture, product and IP strategy, and building R&D organizations that ship.
Three decades of turning research into products
The advice comes from building technology at scale, from first research results through annual flagship smartphone launches.

About Michael Polley
Mike Polley is a semiconductor and AI technology executive with 30 years of R&D and business leadership at Samsung and Texas Instruments. His work has centered on one question: how to turn breakthrough technology into product differentiation and market advantage.
He is an IEEE Fellow, a TI Fellow and an MIT Ph.D., with more than 50 U.S. patents. Boards, C-suites and investors engage him to evaluate emerging technologies, shape differentiation strategy, judge development timing and assess likely market impact.
He founded Polley Advisory Group in 2026 to bring that experience to investors and companies making high-stakes technology decisions.
